Or maybe you’re just here to pick up a few hints and tips on writing, branding, or creating stop motions. That’s cool – dive into my resources page.

Helping you grow online through digital marketing

With more than 20 years’ experience in digital and traditional communications, media and public relations, I’m here to help you tell your stories in authentic, innovative and creative ways. To help you connect with your customers, staff or visitors and successfully promote your products or services.

Why should you outsource your small business digital marketing?

You’ve arrived on my website, so there’s probably a little voice telling you you could do with some help promoting your business. But there’s possibly another voice asking you some of the questions below, am I right?

Why pay for something you can do yourself?

The saying ‘time is money’ is spot-on here. Where is your time best spent? Would you be better off letting me take care of your social media posts or your sales emails, freeing up your time and mental bandwidth to concentrate on actually running your business?

Maybe you know that your website is working for you in some ways – you are getting traffic to it, but you haven’t got the time to fine-tune the SEO (search engine optimisation) so your website appears higher up the list when someone’s searching the web.

Perhaps your social media posts are getting great engagement, but you know that building an email marketing list and going directly to your target audience would help protect your business against the whims of Facebook, Instagram or Tik Tok.

Or maybe creating engaging Facebook posts is something that absolutely fills you with dread. I can help!

Lots of small businesses work with accountants to make sure their finances are right – why not apply the same logic to marketing?

Will someone new really understand your business?

I’m well-used to getting to grips with new concepts quickly. I’ve done PR for an engineering consultancy, for example, and had absolutely no prior knowledge about acoustics or heating systems!

I’ve worked with service businesses, public sector, and the NHS. It’s all about asking the right questions, so I can then understand your customers‘ pain points, and how your service or product solves their problems.

Anyone can write about their own business, can’t they?

In my experience, this assumption is pretty wide of the mark. Writing persuasively is a real skill, as is capturing the personality of a brand in words. Add to that grammar and spelling (both are important!) and trying to come up with text can be a frustrating experience for a small business owner.

Monthly retainers can get expensive – can you afford it?

I don’t charge a retainer fee – you pay me for the work I do for you. This may be a set fee (for a stop motion video and photo package) or by the hour (for proof-reading your monthly email, for example).

I work flexibly – as much or as little as you need me. This could involve creating regular social media content, or simply proof-reading your monthly email newsletter, or providing you with reports on who’s using your site and how. It could just be writing a compelling narrative to showcase what you stand for.

What sets your small business apart?

As a consumer, I love brands that want to engage with me as a person, not a credit card. I buy from brands and services that have personality and that speak to me. So those are traits I bring to my work. I want to understand what makes your brand tick and sets it apart from the competition.

On top of that, I’m passionate about colour, pattern and texture, and am always looking for ways to bring these flavours to my work. Let’s talk about how we can bring it all together to raise your product or service up above your competition.
